Facilities Manager (Kahnawake)

As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking a Facilities Manager to join our growing team in Kahnawake on a permanent basis.

Working under the guidance of the Head of Global Facilities, the Facilities Manager will be responsible for the management of the facilities in our Kahnawake Data Center. From managing the unique requirements of a Data Center facility on an ongoing basis to managing the facility staff.

The Role

The Primary Duties of a Facilities Manager is to:

  • To manage the business of site facilities on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with the facilities team to achieve 99.99% uptime with respect to the building, mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
  • Oversee both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems etc.
  • To manage data centre utility / construction / update projects through to completion.
  • To be responsible for negotiations around service and maintenance contracts, building lease, environmental impact.
  • To manage facility staff.
  • To manage third party suppliers, ensuring delivery against schedule and S.L.A.
  • Organize Health & Safety and Security for the Data centre.
  • Correlate and create processes and documentation to stimulate good work practice.
  • Must and be willing to be on-call.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:

Preferred Technical Skills / Training:

  • Qualified in facilities management practices with the IWFM/IFMA or equivalent.
  • Experience in BMS and the installation of BMS systems along with HVAC controls.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Knowledge of computer room cooling technologies.
  • Experience in staff management practices and team building.
  • Experience in the technical design and fit out of Data Centre infrastructure utilising energy savings systems such as free cooling and high efficiency U.P.S.
  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
  • Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
