RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Head of Operations include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with the Founder to execute key priorities and long-term business initiatives.
  • Oversee the firm's day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient, consistent execution across the organization.
  • Lead and develop a strong bench of leaders through coaching, accountability, and professional development.
  • Strengthen collaboration and alignment across legal, intake, billing, and administrative teams.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, and consistency.
  • Evaluate and optimize business systems, technology, AI, vendors, and outsourced partners to ensure the firm is leveraging the most effective solutions.
  • Own HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and performance management.
  • Develop and monitor operational dashboards, reporting, and key business metrics.
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations, solve complex operational challenges, and drive key initiatives through execution.
  • Support quarterly planning, annual planning, and resource allocation to help achieve organizational goals.
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate the operational impact of business decisions, marketing initiatives, and long-term growth opportunities.

SUCCESS MILESTONES

  • 30 Days: Learn the business, begin building trusted relationships, successfully transition key operational responsibilities, and develop a strong understanding of the firm's operations, systems, and business priorities.
  • 3 Months: Assume ownership of day-to-day operations, implement initial process improvements, establish meaningful reporting, and become a trusted contributor in leadership discussions.
  • 6 Months: Improve operational consistency through enhanced systems, workflows, and technology while becoming a trusted thought partner in business planning.
  • 9 Months: Lead significant operational initiatives, strengthen organizational accountability, improve organizational performance, and be recognized as the firm's operational leader.
  • 1 Year: Build a scalable operational foundation, enable the Founder to focus on the firm's long-term vision and highest-impact priorities, and become a trusted operational partner.

** This is a full-time, remote position. While candidates may work remotely, those located within driving distance of St. Petersburg, FL are preferred. This role requires periodic travel (less than 10%) for quarterly planning sessions and occasional team or industry events. **


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 5+ years of progressive operations leadership experience within a small to mid-sized organization
  • Demonstrated success improving business operations, systems, and processes to support organizational growth
  • Experience partnering directly with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives and operational decision-making
  • Proven experience leading, developing, and holding teams accountable
  • Experience within a professional services organization (e.g., legal, accounting, consulting, financial services, architecture/engineering, healthcare services)

Preferred

  • Experience scaling a founder-led or entrepreneurial organization
  • Experience overseeing HR operations, compliance, or people initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience working with, serving, or supporting the military or veteran community

Desired

  • Experience evaluating vendors, technology platforms, and outsourced service providers
  • Experience implementing AI, workflow automation, or other operational technology initiatives
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent operational certification
