Job description

The Head of Security at Last Energy Inc. will oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of all security and safeguards work across Last Energyโ€™s offices, projects, and operations. This role encompasses physical security, cybersecurity andย  material controls and accounting. It will be critical to ensuring that Last Energy maintains the highest standards in each of these domains. The Head of Security & Safeguards will report directly to the CEO and will work closely with on-site security and safeguards officers, the IT department, and external security contractors.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee the cybersecurity of all industrial systems and corporate networks.

  • Develop and coordinate implementation of Site Security and Material Control & Accounting (MC&A) Plans for Last Energy facilities

  • Oversee security operations on Last Energy sites, ensuring compliance with regulation, best practices, and Last Energy policy

  • Interface with DOE and other regulators on security matters, including audits, inspections, and reporting

  • Manage security contractors

  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business management, engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in security operations, cybersecurity, or a related field

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex programs

  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and security planning principles

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-oriented approach

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and innovative environment
