Job description

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly organized, proactive, and creative Head of Events & Associations to own our event strategy and execution across industry conferences, trade shows, association partnerships, hosted events, and webinars.

Events are a core part of Continuum’s go-to-market strategy, and this person will be responsible for making sure each event is thoughtfully planned, well-executed, and tied to measurable business outcomes.

This role requires someone who can think strategically, create structure, and execute with precision. We’re looking for someone who brings creativity to how our brand shows up, from designing engaging booth experiences to finding thoughtful ways to stand out with prospects before, during, and after events.

You’ll be responsible for determining which events are worth investing in, building the plan around them, aligning Sales and leadership, and ensuring each event is tied to results. You’ll own the process end-to-end: event planning, sponsorship deliverables, booth logistics, attendee list management, sales enablement, pre/post-event communications, HubSpot tracking, reporting, and post-event follow-up.

The right person brings strong judgment, proactive communication, attention to detail, and a pipeline-focused mindset. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving startup environment - you must be comfortable building new processes, managing many moving pieces, communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders, being proactive, and taking ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage Continuum’s event and field marketing strategy across conferences, trade shows, association events, hosted events, dinners, webinars, and other programs.
  • Own event execution from planning through post-event follow-up, including timelines, budgets, sponsorship deliverables, registrations, vendors, booth experience, collateral, shipping, and onsite logistics.
  • Evaluate event opportunities and make recommendations on where we should invest based on audience fit, strategic value, sales priorities, and pipeline potential.
  • Partner closely with Sales to define event goals, target accounts, attendee outreach strategy, meeting goals, follow-up process, and pipeline expectations.
  • Manage attendee and registration lists, ensuring contacts are organized, uploaded, segmented, assigned, and tracked accurately in HubSpot.
  • Develop creative event concepts, booth experiences, and audience engagement ideas that help Continuum stand out in crowded conference environments
  • Create clear internal communications so Sales and leadership understand event goals, timelines, responsibilities, and next steps.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including event organizers, association partners, vendors, sales leaders, executives, and speakers.
  • Proactively identify risks, gaps, and dependencies before they become last-minute issues.
  • Track and report on event performance, including meetings booked, S1s/S2s, pipeline influence, follow-up activity, and key learnings.
  • Build repeatable event processes, templates, checklists, and reporting structures that improve execution over time.

Qualifications

  • 4–7+ years of experience in event marketing or a related B2B marketing role.
  • Experience owning trade shows, conferences, hosted events, webinars, or field marketing programs from planning through reporting.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience partnering with Sales and supporting event-driven pipeline generation.
  • Comfortable working in HubSpot or a similar CRM/marketing automation platform.
  • Ability to manage attendee lists, contact assignments, campaign tracking, and basic reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Able to create structure, ask good questions, proactively make recommendations, and drive work forward independently.
  • Industry experience within wholesale distribution, manufacturing, B2B SaaS, or logistics and supply chain is a plus.

Traits We’re Looking For

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Proactive and resourceful
  • Strong sense of ownership
  • Clear and collaborative communicator
  • Creative problem-solver who can find thoughtful ways to stand out at industry events
  • Comfortable managing up and across teams
  • Calm under pressure
  • Sales-minded and pipeline-oriented
  • Willing to be hands-on

Role Details

  • Reports to: Head of Marketing
  • Location: Chicago preferred
  • Type: Full-time, hybrid
