Own the growth engine behind FUJIFILM Biotechnologies' next wave of partnerships and programs. As Head of Business Development for Commercial Process Development, you will win and scale early-phase client programs—from cell-line development through pre-clinical manufacturing to Phase 2—across a rapidly expanding global CDMO network. This senior, high-visibility role shapes market strategy, opens new territories, closes high-impact deals, and aligns operations so programs start fast and finish strong. What you’ll do

  • Prospect and secure new CDMO business opportunities for FUJIFILM Biotechnologies.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research with market intelligence teams to identify trends and opportunities, driving expansion in both new and existing markets.
  • Develop detailed territory expansion plans, aligning regional trends and business needs with overall global business objectives set by global directors.
  • Keep systems up to date and provide insights, recommendations, and clear business development strategies to Executive Leadership.
  • Represent FUJIFILM Biotechnologies and develop strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies within the designated region.
  • Represent FUJIFILM Biotechnologies at conferences and tradeshows to build brand presence and pipeline.
  • Manage scope and contractual compliance in negotiations with respective clients, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance.
  • Provide customer feedback to internal teams to enhance future solutions.
  • Collaborate with legal and commercial solution teams to ensure business needs for FUJIFILM are met.
  • Work closely with sales, product, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive strategies are executed efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with demand planners to ensure sites are clear on pending customer needs.
  • And other job duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Scope and influence

  • Collaborate with market intelligence, sales/marketing, commercial solutions, legal, and demand planning to align strategy and delivery.
  • Facilitate partnerships with external pharmaceutical companies; align closely with global directors on territory growth and market dynamics.
  • Present business development strategies and detailed territory plans with regional trends and business needs to the Commercial Leadership Team.
  • Own and manage a budget.
  • Recommendations and insights inform Executive Leadership; decisions have impact across FUJIFILM Biotechnologies and the broader FUJIFILM Group.
  • Lead a team of 4–5 direct reports.

Minimum education requirements

  • Relevant academic degree, with a preference for a Bachelor’s or a Master’s Degree in a science-related field is essential.

Minimum experience requirements

  • Essential experience: 12+ years of experience in business development with extensive strategic planning.
  • Essential experience: 8+ years of experience managing a sales team.
  • Experience setting sales targets and goals to drive growth.
  • Strong analytical skills.

This is a global position that will support all our FUJIFILM Biotechnologies sites.

The US salary range for this position is $228,000 to $328,000. Pay within this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience.
