Job description

Produce Department Head is responsible for managing department inventory, in-stock position, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to company standards.
They must follow the Company sales and production planning standards and will ensure that the department achieves the standards of performance as outlined in the work plan. They ensure proper inventory control and rotation for freshness and availability, minimizing waste.
They assist customers with special requests and answer questions about produce and floral products and help increase sales by handing out food samples and by recommending additional items to customers.
They must adhere to strict standards of sanitation, food safety and personal hygiene. Produce Department Head is responsible for plant / floral department, including trimming, watering, and merchandising of products to ensure fresh, high-quality offerings.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Duties:
Produce department employees receive, stock, store, wrap, weigh, price, and attractively merchandise the produce department. Produce Department Heads inventory department. Work with wrapping machines, knives powered and hand jack, cardboard baler, and other duties as assigned.
