Full-Time Regular

Indian Head, MD, US

Scope of Performance: This position is that of an Machinist, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head MD. This position will be full-time technician, including shift work, and shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Technician will work in all explosive and chemical processing areas as determined by management or COR. Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements. Technician MUST be able to support varying shifts including swing and night shifts at the request of management or COR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of duties that include, but not limited to, operation of energetic equipment, operation of energetic transport vehicles, and storage of energetic material

• Responsible for inspection of energetic/hazardous material

• Understanding and utilizing hazardous waste practices for transport and storage

• Maintain records/track shipments of energetic/material

• Responsible for following Standard Operating Procedures for production of energetic/hazardous material

• Use of equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, trucks, and other various lifting equipment

• Maintain an accurate inventory of assets utilizing automated information systems and/or paper logbooks

• Assists fellow departments to streamline flow of materials

• Follow written procedures, guidelines, and standard operating procedures

Education and Experience – Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• CNC and manual machining experience required

• CNC Programming strongly desired

• U.S. Citizen and valid driver's license

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

• Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class

• Ability to work with automated computer systems

• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, both military and private industry
