ATHERTON COMMUNITY SCHOOLS

POSITION:Kitchen Assistant Sub

LOCATION:Atherton Community Schools

START DATE:  ASAP

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exhibit willingness and ability to work with all school employee groups
  • Maintain emotional stability and physical stamina necessary for meeting the requirement of the position
  • Clear criminal and professional conduct background checks
  • Previous food service experience
  • Exhibit the ability to be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Basic knowledge of sanitation and health standards
  • ServSafe certification preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for preparation of food according to specification of the Head Cook and/or Director.
  • Assists in setting up and display of serving lines for food service.
  • Works as a cashier, serves on serving lines or works in Ala Carte room when directed.
  • Washes pots, pans, utensils and other kitchen equipment and cleans the kitchen as directed.
  • Responsible for understanding the basic principles by which the school Breakfast and Lunch 

programs operate.

  • Responsible for production records when applicable.
  • Responsible to maintain a professional and courteous manner with fellow employees.
  • Assist and direct in maintaining sanitation and health standards for staff, students and equipment at all times, checking food products for correct temperature and handling of food products and responsible for yearly county health inspection.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by Director or Head Cook.
  • Be able to lift and put away stock.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
