Job Title: Bookkeeper
Location: Prospect Heights, IL
Pay Range: $31/HR-$35/HR (Depending on Skills and Experience)

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for a Bookkeeper with our client located in Prospect Heights, IL. Our client is a growing healthcare-focused laboratory company seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support their accounting and operations team. This role will work closely with the Head of Accounting/Finance and an external accounting team to maintain accurate financial records, manage AP processes, and support overall accounting operations.

This Bookkeeper would be hired on a contract-to-hire basis. This is an immediate need, so the ideal candidate would be able to interview and start quickly with minimal training.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounts payable functions including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment coordination
  • Manage vendor payables and ensure timely and accurate processing of expenses
  • Assist with accounts receivable functions including billing, collections, and customer account maintenance
  • Perform general ledger support, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance
  • Assist with month-end close procedures and preparation of financial documentation
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and support reporting needs
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online and Bill.com for accounting and payment processes
  • Prepare account summaries and assist with financial reporting
  • Support audit readiness, compliance tasks, and recordkeeping best practices
  • Maintain documentation for accounting procedures and assist with process improvements
  • Handle administrative and operational support tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, specifically in AP/AR or finance operations
  • QuickBooks Online experience required
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP required
  • Healthcare or medical billing experience is a strong plus
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be located within approximately 20-25 minutes of Prospect Heights, IL
