Overview

We are the largest provider of tax preparation software and services with TurboTax serving ~35M households and over 140M members trust Credit Karma with their financial profile. We're searching for an experienced, innovative VP of Technology (Engineering) leader - as a Head Architect - who has deep SaaS experience delivering new products and experiences to the market that will be loved by millions of users. In this role, the leader will lead the Consumer Platform that enables Intuit to power the prosperity of consumers by serving their needs at various points in their financial journey, from tax to credit to saving on expenses to access to money and growing wealth. Consumer Platform, oriented around the pillars of Tax, Personal Finance, and Money, will focus on helping consumers lift the burden of tax prep with AI and assisted tax prep and lay the foundation to create a year-round relationship centered on money benefits, financial products, and financial guidance.

Consumer Platform is powered by world-class Tax (TurboTax and ProTax) and Credit Karma capabilities. This leader will propel a high-performing team to its next phase of growth. This individual will rely on their business acumen, strategic thinking, hands-on technical/coding experience, AI proficiency and experience, and data skills to drive customer and business outcomes at scale. They will be comfortable making decisions with imperfect information, balancing precision with speed. They will leverage their expertise to guide and inspire the team, attract, and develop top talent, and be both a business leader and technology leader.

What you'll do here:

  • We are looking for a Head Architect - Vice President, Technology, to lead architecture for the Consumer Platform. We are looking for a leader that has a passion for solving e2e problems for developers and customers. This role will report to the SVP of Engineering
  • As a hands-on technical leader, you will own and drive the overall architecture for Consumer Platform by translating business strategy into a durable technology strategy, with a deeper focus and ownership of Tax Platform capabilities. You will do so in close partnership with business leadership, Tax and Credit Karma PD teams, functional teams and broader Intuit TechEcosystem
  • Be the talent stewards of Distinguished Engineers and Principal Engineers in the organization by defining their focus areas in partnership with PD leadership and coaching them

Responsibilities

  • Technology Strategy and Architecture for Consumer Platform
    • Define and drive the technology strategy for Consumer Platform by partnering with Business Leadership and broader Intuit TechEcosystem to accelerate the business growth aspirations. Ensure technical governance of technologies being developed and partner with others to deliver end to end solutions. Evaluate solution designs to confirm technical feasibility, alignment with business objectives, and incorporation of critical non-functional requirements. Use, integrate, identify gaps and propose solutions across all technology assets in the company to ensure we have a cohesive platform. Emphasize development of AI Native solutions which leverage AI to the fullest extent to deliver customer benefit
  • Boundaryless Collaboration
    • Able to operate in a complex org structure and collaborating with multiple stakeholders globally. Partner with business and technology teams to prioritize roadmaps, requirements, balancing business needs with financial and technology constraints. Establish alignment of vision, strategy & delivery working with cross-functional teams (PM, PD, XD, Care..) and stakeholders, including senior leaders across geographies.
  • Operational & Engineering Excellence
    • Establish and improve engineering and operational excellence efforts across the Consumer Platform that drive a productive environment for developers and high availability for our customers. Result-oriented and deliver huge outcomes. Sets clear objectives and goals for the team and enables the team to deliver and use operating mechanisms to continually assess progress and improve. Establishes the data driven processes needed to achieve operational & engineering excellence. Foster Engineering culture within the team and across organizations.
  • Build a high-performance culture
    • Grow and coach engineering talent, acts as a talent magnet to attract, nurture and retain senior talent including Engineering Directors, managers, engineers, and architects. Develops and drives strategy to hire, develop and mobilize talent for the organization.

    • Can operate in a fast-moving environment, make quick data driven customer backed decisions and execute fiercely to deliver outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of product and platform development experience with BS/MS in computer science or equivalent
  • 3+ years in a leadership, managing and coaching globally distributed teams and influencing third party technology strategy
  • Demonstrated outstanding craft delivering SaaS at scale
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise is developing full stack applications across multiple areas from architecture, services, applications, data, analytics, AI and marketing technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver customer outcomes with AI and data powered experiences
  • Track record of developing high performing organizations and working in a highly collaborative environment across multiple organizations
  • Demonstrated to operate with high level objectives and deliver with velocity
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver bold, innovative outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive big transformations - organizational, technology, business outcomes. Able to operate strategically and tactically in the details
  • Exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to identify patterns and opportunities across a complex ecosystem of products and services
  • Have a firm understanding of systems engineering and high-availability design.
  • Experience in operating at different levels of altitude across the entire software development lifecycle
  • Skilled in creating strong partnerships, influencing stakeholders, and driving business outcomes across data, product, marketing, and sales
  • Demonstrates ability to research & learn new technologies and business processes independently and apply them as needed.
  • Passion for facilitative leadership, collaboration and lead teams across boundaries.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels - from front line engineers to senior leaders and executive leadership

The expected base pay range for this position is:
