HDTs, or Heat Deflection Testers, are professionals or devices commonly used to determine the heat deflection temperature (HDT) of materials, particularly plastics and polymers. The HDT is a critical property that measures the temperature at which a material deforms under a specified load. Knowing the HDT helps manufacturers and engineers select materials suitable for applications that involve exposure to heat. HDTs are essential in quality control and material selection processes in industries such as automotive, electronics, and construction.
