Job description

PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The Maintenance Tech is responsible to perform a full range of maintenance, repair and service activities on heavy and light equipment as well as repair work around the site.
This position is considered "Safety Sensitive" for purposes of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act and the Arizona Drug Testing statutes. This position is currently dayshift (4 x 10) with weekends off.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
Must have excellent understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics.
Able to adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools.
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on surface equipment: forklifts, water truck, loaders, haul trucks, excavator, grader, as well as light vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Must be able to comprehend, comply with, promote and support safety policies and procedures
A minimum of 5 years' work experience in heavy equipment repair (open pit mining)
Mechanical ability and an interest in all types of machinery and engines, electronics and precision equipment
Possession of a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required
The ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology
Must have the strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment and work in cramped or awkward positions; lift objects up to 75 lbs.
Must have working knowledge of all tools and equipment necessary to work in the Maintenance Department
