Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: Provides patient transportation for all sections of Imaging Services, Cardiovascular Services and throughout the facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needs.
  • Moves and lifts patients, managing any portable equipment that must be transported with the patient.
  • Assists with transfer to and from wheelchair, cart and bed as needed.
  • Transports patients to and from various areas of the hospital to imaging services.
  • Transports patients throughout facility as directed.
  • Assists patients with dressings.
  • Checks patients in and out of nursing units.
  • Monitors transportation equipment for daily use.
  • Prepares carts with clean linen after each use.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all transportation equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains effective and respectful communication in development of all collaborative relationships.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Registration, Licensure or Certification

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA or ARC

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with customers
