Job Overview:

Are you ready to be at the heart of live sports action, delivering cutting-edge technology services at Big Ten schools? As a College Sports Systems Technician with Hawk-Eye, you'll be instrumental in ensuring seamless technology operations during live games across various sports. Dive into a dynamic role where your skills and passion for technology meet the excitement of live sports events.

  • Location: University of Iowa

  • Employment Type: Part Time (contractor)

  • Pay: Starting at $28 per hour

  • Start Date: Summer 2026

  • Working Hours: Game Day minus 1 and Game Day - Hours vary depending on sport delivery

What the Job is All About:

As part of the Hawk-Eye team, you will be working on-site at the Big Ten Conference Football stadium, helping to deliver cutting-edge technology services at live games.

We would like you to be able to commit to all of the home games for the season. You will need to be prepared to work long days on set and game days, as we work whenever sport happens. We will equip you with the technical training, support, and full exposure to our systems to perform your day-to-day tasks, but also to encourage development and progression to help make an impact on what we do.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the set-up of the SMART replay & medical systems (both hardware and software)

  • Conducting pre-game checks of the systems in accordance with standard procedures

  • Coordinating with officials, broadcasters and Hawk-Eye staff, both on-site and remotely

  • Monitoring and maintaining the technology during the games

  • Maintaining our hardware and equipment throughout the season

  • Periodic work during the off-season for building and maintaining our hardware and equipment

  • Assisting with any installation and testing of new products and services

Skills:
  • Ideally a broadcast/engineering background with an understanding of signal flow

  • Strong technical grounding

  • Proactive attitude and ability to work on your own initiative

  • Time management skills and ability to work in a high pressure, live broadcast environment

  • Ability to communicate with clients and customers in a professional and approachable manner

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Acceptance that the nature of our business means that work will be carried out over weekends/federal holidays
