Job description

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is seeking student workers to support the mission of Grand Canyon University through GCU's Havoc House restaurant in the GCU Arena.


Purpose within the Organization:
Filling out this application will submit your information to multiple jobs at the Havoc House. If you are selected for an interview, you will discuss the available positions with the manager to find the best fit. The possible positions you are applying to include: Wait Staff, Bussers, Hosts, Expeditors, Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Dishwashers.

Responsibilities related to the Purpose:

  • Collaborates with customers, as well as coworkers, professionally.
  • Fast learner who completes required tasks with the highest quality of work.
  • Complies with all HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to be open to learning and growing.
  • Maturity of judgment and behavior.
  • Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance.
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule helpful.
  • Must comply with any dress code requirements.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
  • Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity.
  • Significant walking or other means of mobility.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds.

Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
