What is a hat model?

A Hat Model is a fashion model who specifically showcases hats and headwear for designers, brands, and retailers. They may appear in runway shows, photoshoots, advertisements, or promotional events to highlight various hat styles. Hat models need strong posture, expressive posing, and the ability to complement different looks while ensuring the hat remains the focal point. Some may also work in couture or commercial fashion, depending on the brand's needs.

What types of modeling assignments can a hat model expect, and how is a typical workday structured?

Hat Models may participate in a variety of assignments, including studio photo shoots, live runway shows, promotional events, and catalog or ecommerce sessions for hat designers and retailers. A typical workday often begins with fittings and hair and makeup, followed by modeling different hat styles while adapting to the creative direction of photographers, stylists, and art directors. Collaboration is key, as Hat Models frequently work alongside other models and creative professionals to achieve the desired campaign vision. Assignments can vary in location and duration, offering both part-time and full-time opportunities depending on the needs of clients and agencies. The role offers the chance to build a professional portfolio and develop connections within the fashion and accessories industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the hat model position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Hat Model, you need an attractive appearance, strong posing ability, and experience with photographic or live modeling in fashion contexts. Familiarity with photo shoot environments, runway protocols, and the ability to follow direction from photographers and stylists are common technical requirements. Professionalism, punctuality, and confidence in front of audiences or cameras distinguish top performers in this role. These skills ensure models can effectively showcase hats, collaborate with creative teams, and contribute to successful marketing or promotional campaigns.

How much do hat models make?

Hat models typically earn between $50 and $200 per hour, depending on experience, the type of campaign, and the market. Rates can vary widely for freelance work or agency representation, and some may also receive additional compensation such as clothing or product samples.

How to be a hat model?

To become a hat model, you should build a portfolio showcasing your ability to wear different styles, often through professional photos. Modeling agencies or brands may require you to attend castings or auditions, and having good posture, facial expressions, and a versatile look can improve your chances. Experience with fashion or accessories modeling and understanding of current trends can also be beneficial.

Job description

About the Role
This role is designed for a strategic dealmaker with an application developer's mindset. It requires technical acumen and the ability to build and drive comprehensive solutions. You will operate at the intersection of architecture and business strategy, translating complex technical requirements into compelling proposals.
As part of the Red Hat OpenShift specialist team, you will collaborate with account teams to establish OpenShift as the platform of choice with our Enterprise Customers across the Southeast Region (specifically Carolinas thru Florida). You will drive initiatives in cloud-native application development, hybrid cloud, virt-to-container migration, AI application development, and edge computing, positioning Red Hat at the forefront of the hybrid cloud market.
What You'll Do
  • Build Technical Credibility: Engage application developers and platform teams as a peer, demonstrating a deep understanding of their daily challenges, toolchains, and the realities of large-scale software development/deployment.
  • Identify Customer Needs: Consult with clients to uncover business drivers and technical pain points, directly aligning them with Red Hat's solutions.
  • Lead the Sales Cycle: Drive sales campaigns from the initial discovery phase and technical qualification through to validation, securing the technical win, and supporting procurement where necessary.
  • Bridge Business and Technology: Translate technical solutions into measurable business value for executives, while maintaining credibility with developers, infrastructure architects, and engineering leads.
  • Drive Cloud-Native Transformation: Lead customers through application platform modernization, virtualization migration, and cloud adoption initiatives.
  • Develop Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate early and often with your team to execute territory plans, identify whitespace, and position OpenShift as the premier platform.

What We're Looking For
  • Developer-Centric Sales Professional: 7+ years of experience in enterprise software, cloud, or technology sales, possessing the technical depth required to earn the trust of application development teams.
  • Platform Evangelist: Working knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, and cloud-native ecosystems, complemented by a genuine passion for open source and the Red Hat model.
  • Consultative Approach: Skilled at asking insightful questions to uncover underlying customer needs and true objectives.
  • Executive Presence: Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills that resonate with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Versatile Communicator: Equally comfortable whiteboarding a hybrid cloud architecture with a platform team, as you are presenting a modernization business case to the CSuite.
  • Collaborative Accountability: A proven track record of working effectively within matrixed teams while taking personal ownership of pipeline development, quota attainment, and customer outcomes.

The salary range for this position is $221,330.00 - $365,160.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
