Job description

Position: Brake Press Set-Up Operator
Location: Hartford, WI
Shift: 1st Shift - 7:00am - 3:30pm, M-F
Pay range: $20.00 - $25.00 / hour
Job Summary:
The Brake Press Set-Up Operator involves preparing parts from metal using a press brake, a computer numeric controlled (CNC) piece of equipment that makes precision bends, punches, or cuts into metal.
Responsibilities:
  • Identify why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output and how to fix errors
  • Use attention to detail to ensure precision
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine tooling, bend sequence, and part specifications
  • Select, install, and align dies, punches, and tooling for each job
  • Set up and program CNC or manual brake press controls (back gauge, tonnage, bend angles)
  • Perform test bends and adjust setups to achieve required tolerances
Qualifications:
  • Experience and use of press brake equipment or within a manufacturing environment
  • Positive work ethic
  • Aptitude for math, problem-solving and computer skills
  • Accurately read a tape measure and micrometer
  • Ability to interpret and apply blue prints to make parts to customer specifications
  • Knowledge of simple operations in windows based computer environment; preferred in JobBOSS
  • Must be able to understand and read written instructions and or directions in work related documents
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Stamina: Press brake operators often work long hour doing repetitive movements.
