POSITION SUMMARY
Primary purpose of organizational unit is to provide public health services for Harnett County residents under the authority and guidance of the Harnett County Board of Health to establish policies and procedures for the various programs using laws, rules, regulations and guidance from federal, state and local governments.
Programs and services as they relate to this position are Community Care Block Grant Program (Nutrition Program), SHIIP, CAP D/A Program, Retired and Senior Volunteer Services Program and other programs as added.
Minimum Salary: $46,834.00
Job Rate Salary: $54,445.00

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position divides time in three different roles and programs: Caregiver Support, Home and Community Care Block Grant Home Improvement Program and Medicare Counseling. Work in the Caregiver Support program involves providing information and training to establish and facilitate caregiver support groups and systems; assisting families in obtaining services and supplies from other agencies; providing durable medical equipment and paying for the services when appropriate; promoting the programs in the community and networking with agencies and organizations to build support for programs. Work in the Medicare program involves providing Medicare counseling to seniors/families and assist them in enrolling in the program and making decisions on drug and supplemental programs. Work requires travel within the county and ability to budget time to comply with requirements on each of the programs. Work within the Home Improvement program involves providing information and referral to those individuals who are in need of minor home repairs and accessibility improvements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a human services field such as social work, counseling, psychology, special education, deaf education, or rehabilitation counseling; four-year degree and one year of experience in counseling or in a related human services field which provides experience in techniques of counseling, casework, group work, or community organization, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
