Job description

Harkins Theatres is looking for a Facility Technician to perform preventative and routine maintenance of equipment and facilities for assigned buildings and/or properties. Ensures assigned facilities are maintained and repaired to a high standard, minimizing downtime and ensuring a safe environment.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Performs on-site repair and maintenance of assigned facilities.
  • Provides preventative maintenance and repairs for concession equipment, auditorium seating, restrooms, lighting, HVAC, minor electrical, basic plumbing, tile repairs, drywall/painting, etc.
  • Conducts safety observations, performs safety repairs for potentially hazardous conditions, and notifies theatre management of safety concerns.
  • Performs odd tasks that may include hauling or moving boxes and other equipment, scaffolding work, roof repairs, etc.
  • Regular attendance and physical presence at the work site. Travel required between designated company locations and supply houses daily.
  • Records regular work, mileage and expense reports utilizing computer-based programs.
  • Must have current auto insurance at all times as well as valid driver's license.
  • Must carry a cell phone and be available evenings and weekends for emergencies.
  • Must maintain and properly use company issued tools and materials.
  • Communicates effectively in writing and verbally.
  • l working environment while setting a positive and professional example.
  • Requires bending, stretching, reaching, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking up/downstairs and on flat or uneven surface, lifting up to 75 pounds, interacting with employees and vendors, sitting, typing on a computer, speaking on the telephone, climbing a ladder/scaffold, problem solving, and cognitive skills.

Additional Duties
  • Performs special projects, as assigned.
  • Assists coworkers when required.
  • Occasional overnight travel (10%)

  • High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, etc. Trade school certification and/or college degree preferred.

  • Flexible to work variable schedules.
  • Reliable pickup truck or van and willingness to travel.
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
