Job description

Position Purpose

The Negwer Door Systems Estimator, under the supervision of the NDS General Manager, accurately calculates the total costs associated with a project or the development of a new product.

 

Essential Functions

  • Supports NDS Inside Sales during the process of quoting sales pricing to customers by providing accurate measurements and assessments for labor/materials
  • Provides installation solutions that match customer's expectations
  • Adapts product specifications to installation requirements, utilizing a thorough knowledge of all NDS products
  • Recognizes situations that would impact customer expectations, job costs and/or code performance and provides solutions
  • Manages assigned work schedules and work orders; set priorities and schedules appointments with customers
  • Keep Team Members (NDS Project Managers, NDS Inside Sales) informed as needed
  • Provides accurate measurements and documentation of job-related circumstances
  • Keeps current on product and installation process changes
  • Conducts bid takeoffs and proposal preparations
  • Manages budgets, estimates, and timelines
  • Reviews bids offered by subcontractors in order to choose the most cost-effective option
  • Prepares data associated with either producing a new product or improving the design of an existing product
  • Forecasts the production costs within a given timetable
  • Flexible/non-traditional schedule may be required, and some travel
  • Performs other necessary functions as assigned

Qualifications Necessary

Knowledge

  • 3-5 years related experience in frame, door and hardware estimation, or related field
  • Some college education preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Comfortable with learning and using new technologies
  • Sufficient experience with the Microsoft Office suite
