Job description

Application deadline: Aug 31, 2026
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
The AWS Hardware Engineering team is driving rapid innovation in the server systems used by Amazon Web Services. Our designs are fundamentally changing the data center, providing operational and financial benefits that are critical to the success of the AWS business and its millions of customers. Our Archival and Specialized Hardware engineering team develops unique cloud hardware solutions

Our engineers solve challenging technology problems, and take big bets on new concepts, enabling AWS services to continue to revolutionize the industry.
The ideal candidate will lead a team of hardware engineers engaged in the design and development of specialized products utilizing a wide range of technologies, design, and manufacturing partners. Work closely with our customers to understand their short and long term business goals and product needs.

Work with an interdisciplinary team across components, firmware, test, and qualification, along with external suppliers and design partners to develop, deploy at scale, and provide ongoing operational support for the servers we develop. Provide technology thought leadership to both the hardware engineering team and our customers, identifying long term trends and how these can be intercepted in our products for the benefit of our customers. Work directly with engineers and product owners across the company to create next-generation hardware.

You will have a direct impact on our bottom line and the ability to deliver improvements for our customers.
This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position with significant impact on the future of the cloud. You will have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve your products' performance, quality, and cost.

You will be responsible not for just delivering products to the roadmap, but also continuously raise the bar on how we develop products.
We're changing an industry, and we want individuals who are ready for this challenge and want to reach beyond what is possible today.
