Job description

Amazon LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
As a Hardware Engineer, you will be a part of the team of experts working on the development of advanced satellite systems. You will own or contribute to the following:
• Design and optimization of circuitry for satellite systems
• Design the proof of concept prototypes for the next generation of satellite hardware
• Closely collaborate with radiation, power, mechanical, thermal, RF, software teams
• Design of automated test systems, test fixtures, and factory test
• Bring-up and qualification test campaigns of satellite hardware
• Lead and review PCB layout

As a hardware engineer, you will work alongside Senior Electrical Engineers supporting the design, debug, validation and optimization of the products. You will be involved in projects from concept through production, gaining exposure to the complete design lifecycle.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- 3+ years of industrial experience especially board level analog/digital design
- 1+ years of experience in high-speed digital design, multi-gigabit SERDES, signal and power integrity
- 2+ years of experience in using schematic
- 2+ years of experience using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
- Experience with Mentor Graphics or Cadence layout tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Masters of Science or PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering
- Familiarity with analog electronic fundamentals (transistor circuits, op-amps, filters, etc)
- Experience in design, implementation, bring up and debugging of proof of concept HW and prototypes
- Familiarity with power supply design
- Proficiency in developing programs for instrument control

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
