A leading developer in the sensor solutions and industrial communication interfaces global automation market, Pepperl+Fuchsย is looking for a hardworking, ambitious individual to fill an immediate need for an experiencedย Hardware Design Engineer at our Roseville, MN location.ย ย 

As an experiencedย Hardware Design Engineer,ย you are responsible for the research, development and design of hardware for new Industrial ethernet communication productsย along with support for hardware in existing product lines.ย This is a great opportunity to collaborate with our teamย to utilize both your hardware design skills and your creative skills to create new solutions.

Your tasks will include:

  • Be a key team member in specifying, designing and developing exciting electronic hardware systems that run embedded OS and applications for standard and industrial Ethernet to process and transfer factory automation I/O data.
  • Circuit design
  • Develop hardware that are robust and EMC sound.
  • Schematic capture, constraints development and programming.
  • PCB Layout design constraints, guidance and review.
  • Lead debugging and testing of prototype boards.
  • Analyze and resolve issues found in design verification test (DVT), EMC and environmental testing.
  • Research and create innovative product HW architecture with performance microcontroller, memory, interface IC.
  • Lead Product feasibility studies including PCB component area placement and circuit implementation and routing studies.
  • Collaboration with software engineering and industrial / manufacturing engineering and product management to develop hardware solutions.
  • Support circuit and product assembly technologies.
  • Create hw/sw interface and specifications documents.

Required to Perform this Job:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience of embedded system design including circuit design and prototype bring-up and debugging.
  • Experience with processor architecture, digital circuit design, and various communications protocols.
  • Experience leading and driving design development from schematic capture, PCB layout through fabrication and assembly.
  • Experience developing robust designs for EMC and industrial operating temperature range
  • Experience in CAD design tools for schematic capture and constraints programming
  • Good understanding of manufacturing process including DFM.
  • Ability to manage a complex set of objectives and team goals in a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Proven experience in bringing up prototype board and debug/troubleshoot circuits and designs.
