In this role, you will use engineering principles to design new products, make improvements on existing products, and ensure design compliance with appropriate certifying bodies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Power distribution circuit design (focus in DC a plus).
Fused circuits, alarm schemes, remote monitoring and plug and play design.
Research and offer solutions to resolve problems in design of new and existing product lines.
Circuit design experience in analog, digital, and power circuitry with solid understanding of digital logic principles. PCB layout experience a plus.
Review drawings, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation as requested.
Parametric modeling experience required.
Investigate and troubleshoot design problems.
Review engineering design changes and recommend modifications to minimize cost and ease of performance.
Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with engineering.
Follow and refine established filing guidelines for drawings to maintain up-to-date drawings.
Circuit simulation software experience a plus.
Update part lists and bills of materials for design projects.
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Electrical Engineering. Computer Engineering with electrical design experience is acceptable with 2+ years experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to develop specifications on drawings. Ability to read and use technical measurement instruments.
Ability to visualize a new product and complete the tasks necessary to design and build a functioning product.
Familiarity with, or prior experience creating, dimensioned orthographic perspective drawings and embedded system programming.
Requires a good understanding of existing company products and new products the industry requires.
Requires knowledge of the manufacturing computer system, solid modeling software, and Microsoft Programs.
Experience with Altium Circuit Designer, KiCAD, Allegro or other electrical schematic and PCB design tools.
Ability to diagnose electrical circuit issues and faults.
Ability to understand and define embedded hardware systems from a lower-level perspective.
EMC diagnosis and troubleshooting experience a plus.
Strong knowledge of circuit operation, and ability to quickly learn advanced circuit theory concepts a plus.
Experience working with advanced instrumentation like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and logic probes a plus.
Ability to communicate with suppliers, customers and other agencies like Underwriters Laboratory a plus.
This position is onsite, Monday - Friday.
