Job description

Please note - This role is being managed on an exclusive, single source basis. Speculative resumes sent by agencies or received from any other source will be disregarded.

There’s something special about helping someone design the place where life happens. The kitchen where birthdays are celebrated. The living room where holidays become traditions. The primary suite that finally feels like home. At Wisenbaker, our Design Consultants do more than help customers select finishes, they create an experience that customers remember long after they receive their keys. If you have an eye for design, enjoy building genuine relationships, and love guiding people through exciting decisions with confidence and care, this is your opportunity to turn great customer experiences into beautiful homes.

Your Mission As a Sr. Design Consultant

You’ll serve as a trusted design advisor, guiding homebuyers through the interior selection process with professionalism, creativity, and expertise. You’ll help customers bring their vision to life while balancing style, functionality, budget, and construction timelines.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Consult with homebuyers to understand their lifestyle, design preferences, and investment goals.
  • Guide customers through flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, lighting, hardware, and other interior selections with confidence and expertise.
  • Present upgrade opportunities in a consultative, customer-focused way that delivers value.
  • Conduct design appointments efficiently while meeting builder timelines and supporting construction schedules.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize all customer selections and documentation with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture where customer satisfaction, quality, and continuous improvement come first.
What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Business, or a related field preferred +7 years of experience in residential design selections, luxury home finishes, or a closely related field.

Prior experience working with a production homebuilder, custom builder, luxury builder, interior design firm, or high-end showroom is strongly preferred.

Proven ability to work with discerning buyers who expect a curated, polished, and highly personalized design experience.

Strong understanding of interior finishes, including cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, paint, exterior materials, and other finish categories.

Ability to balance buyer preferences, architectural style, community standards, construction feasibility, budget considerations, and resale value when making recommendations.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain design direction, product differences, upgrade value, and trade-offs in a confident and client-friendly manner.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing selection documentation, change orders, payments, follow-up items, and internal communication.

About The Company

As one of the largest interior finish solutions providers in the country, we partner with top homebuilders to deliver flooring, countertops, and cabinets that turn houses into homes.
