Harbor View Creative Learning Center is looking for a classroom floater to join our team! As a childcare floater, you will step into classrooms to cover teachers' lunch breaks. If a teacher is out, you will fill their role in the classroom.

Benefits:
  • All Employees will accrue Personal Time and PTO hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
  • Sick Pay will be accrued for a maximum of 48 hours, applied to each employee's policy, and paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.

  • We will help you obtain your CDA (Child Development Associate)
Responsibilities:
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach children
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc...).
  • Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.
  • Collaborate with other educators.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
Desired Skills and Experience:
    • Experience working in a licensed childcare facility
    • 45 DCF Training Hour (one year to complete training)
    • CDA preferred (Not required)
    • Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
    • Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
    • Excellent communication and instructional skills
    • Ability to act as a mediator between children
    • Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
    • Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
