Job description

Railcar Repairman and Welder

Harbor Rail Services has been in the railroad business since 1986, a leading provider of railcar maintenance and repair services is hiring for multiple positions. Pay Range: $00.00 - $00.00 per hour depends on experience.

Job consists of repairing all types of rail cars using hand tools, cutting torches and welding equipment along with performing inspections in accordance with AAR, FRA, Railroad rules, company policies and safety procedures.
Day shift job may require evening and/or weekend work.

Work is of the physical nature and involves frequent walking, gripping, reaching, kneeling, bending and stooping. Working environment is outdoors.

On a post-offer basis, candidates must pass drug screening and eRailSafe background check to meet the U.S. Department of Homeland Security requirements as required by the railroad. Social Security number required.

Benefits:
Full-time employees are eligible for health plan benefits first of month following 60 days of employment. Employees may cover their spouse or domestic partner and/or dependent child(ren) up to the age of 26. Medical insurance is on a shared cost basis. Dental, vision and supplemental life insurance is available and funded solely by employee. Plus, for employees only at no cost, Hospital Indemnity plan (requires enrollment in a medical plan) and Basic Life and AD&D. Eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan after attainment of age 21 and completion of 6 months of service. Paid holidays and paid vacation after 90 days of full-time employment.

Mechanical experience (1+ years) required. AWS D15.1 Welding Certification is a plus. Valid driver license required.
