Job description

Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM) is the largest owner and operator of marinas in the world. The Internal Security Officer (OSHA) is responsible for provide assistant the Safety and Security Manager in ensuring the protection of property, assets, and people in the facilities. Responsible for the implementation of the protocol and measures to ensure the safety and security of the Marina. This role may also be referred to as Guard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily inspect all Marina workplaces to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assess all Marina workplace conditions to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Enforce safety policies and protocols to mitigate risks.
  • Provide orientation to the teammates on best practices and safety procedures when needed.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Document findings and prepare reports for review and compliance.
  • Generate security reports and service orders.
  • Assists in responding to emergencies such as fires, boat rescues, and similar incidents.
  • Address any issues with clients, contractors, and employees.
  • Address assistance situations or operational needs required by other departments.
  • Respond to and manage any alarm activation and access control.
  • Assist in the office work when it is necessary:
    • Register all the authorized contractors in the Infinias System and Dock Master to prepare the necessary identifications and passes of access.
    • Keep and maintain integrity in the information.
    • Keep and maintain excellent communication with safety and security employees and other Marina personnel.
    • Answer phone calls and direct calls to appropriate parties or take messages.
    • Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries.
  • Any other task assigned by the Safety and Security Manager related to the job.

Technical and Physical Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous security experience preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property
  • Must have a valid Drivers' License
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • OSHA 30hours preferred
  • Any skills considered standard that a Guard should possess
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Fully bilingual (Spanish and English)
