Job description

This position is responsible to inspects guest rooms daily to ensure cleanliness and assesses the condition according to established guidelines and standards as set by the Hotel.

  • Listen and respond inquiries made by Team Members, Guests or any individual calling or walking into the Housekeeping Office using clear speaking voice to meet their needs.
  • Make Room’s inspections [Line, Witten and Visual inspections every day following the Housekeeping Department standards] to ensure quality standards [cleanliness and safety] are met or exceeded
  • Inspect the OOO rooms and follow up daily.
  • Inspect the VIPs and Site Rooms every day making sure they are ready on time.
  • Inspect public areas such as corridors, and stairs to ensure they are clean and presentable.
  • Inspect condition of furniture for tears, rips, and stains and report damages to Manager /Director.
  • Ensures guest rooms, linens, service landings, guest landings, vending area, stairwells, elevator, maid carts, distribution carts, and equipment are set up in a standardized manner as required by current SOP’s
  • Use checklists to ensure that cleanliness and condition of each assigned area meets designated standards
  • Prepare inspection report with the status of all guest rooms at the beginning of the shift.
  • Training new employees in housekeeping duties and retraining when necessary.
  • Ensure all Team Members have the equipment and supplies they need to do their job every day.
  • Ensures training for safe and proper usage of cleaning solutions and equipment
  • Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for team members and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with the Hotel’s Hazcom program.
  • Learns and uses computer system to ensure accuracy of room statuses throughout the day.
  • Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance
  • Communicates to housekeeping management to assign any rooms for deep clean.
  • Communicates with other departments as needed in order to accomplish tasks.
  • Attend other related meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.
  • Participate in Hotel Activities when is required.
  • Participate in job training courses.
  • Handle disciplinary action, coaching, and counseling with the Director of Housekeeping when necessary.
  • Meet daily with Housekeeping Managers and give them support when is needed.
  • Perform duties of the Housekeeping Coordinator when required by the operation.
  • Any other task assigned by the Housekeeping Manager, Housekeeping Manager or General Manager.
