Role Overview

With Hanwha Power expanding into the U.S. market, the company is seeking an experienced We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Applications Engineer with deep experience in centrifugal compressors and industrial rotating equipment. The successful candidate will support technical sales activities, develop customized application solutions, and interface with global clients across a range of industries.

This role requires strong engineering fundamentals, customer-facing communication skills, and a thorough understanding of compressor design, selection, and integration into broader systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead in pre-sales and proposal development for compressor solutions, including feasibility analysis, product selection, and system design.
  • Collaborate with the Sales, R&D, and Product Management teams to ensure alignment between customer requirements and product capabilities.
  • Develop and review technical proposals, specifications, performance data, and cost estimates for centrifugal compressors.
  • Evaluate customer inquiries and provide technically and commercially competitive solutions.
  • Support customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions as a subject matter expert.
  • Lead the review and clarification of customer specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards (API 672 & 617, ASME, ISO, etc.).
  • Provide engineering input for project execution teams during order fulfillment, including final design reviews and documentation.
  • Analyze and interpret performance data, simulations, and customer requirements to optimize compressor system performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on application best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in applications engineering or technical sales support, with a strong emphasis on centrifugal compressors.
  • Deep knowledge of compressor performance curves, thermodynamics and system integration.
  • Knowledge of related equipment such as drivers (motors/turbines), lubrication and control systems.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (API 672 & 617, ASME, ISO, etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience with customer interaction and proposal writing.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (~15–25%).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with packaged skid design and integration for oil & gas or industrial gas applications.
  • Prior experience working with international teams or within a global corporate structure.
