Primary purpose of the position

To repair/maintain and improve all equipment associated with the production process. This includes but is not limited to Injection machines, baggers, boxers, conveyors and other related automation and support equipment.

Major responsibilities

· Safe working environment achieved and maintained.

· Organized spare part storage/identification and replenishment

· Demonstrate a good, systematic, logical approach to troubleshooting problems.

· Demonstrate a good working knowledge of hydraulics theory

· Demonstrate a good working knowledge of electrical theory

· Demonstrate a good understanding of pneumatics theory

· Demonstrate knowledge of automation principles

· Demonstrate working knowledge of PLC programming

· Demonstrate knowledge of working with robotics/end of arm tooling/programming

· Demonstrate knowledge of correct rigging techniques and lifting heavy equipment

· Demonstrate knowledge of basic welding and fabrication

Personal competencies

· Ability to manage daily priorities

· Ability to multi-task when necessary

· Ability to work independently with limited direction

· Become certified Lift truck driver through Hans-Mill internal training

· Ability to operate overhead cranes at Hans-Mill

· Communicate effectively both written/oral

· Speak and understand the English language

· Fill out work orders for work complete

· Diagnose equipment issues and make effective repairs

· Recommend solutions to frequent failure

· Recommend spare parts for breakdowns

Physical demands

· Stand, walk, twist, bend, grasp, lift – occasionally 50lbs

· Occasionally climb/carry 50lbs

· Visually inspect work completed, distance, peripheral and depth perception

· Drive/operate lift truck

· Ability to tolerate the above requirements

Work environment

· Plastic injection, high automation, Automatic bagging/boxing/taping, conveyor systems

· Shop environment 75% of the time, includes exposure to industrial hazards, loud/sudden noises, hot/humid conditions can take place.

· Personal tools are required

Educational and certificate background

Must have a Journeymen’s active card/certificate - essential

HS diploma or equivalent – essential

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
