Job description

POSITION:                      Friday Club Preschool Child Care Assistant      

LOCATION:                      Allen Early Learning Academy

JOB SUMMARY:

The Friday Club Preschool Assistant is a dedicated, creative, and experienced early childhood educator responsible for supporting the "Friday Preschool Club" program. This unique role is perfect for an educator who has passions for hands-on, play-based learning and wishes to support a dynamic, weekly enrichment program.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience

-    Required: Demonstrated experience working in an early childhood education setting.

Skills & Abilities

-    Strong knowledge of early childhood development milestones and best practices.

-    Excellent classroom management skills tailored for preschool-aged children.

-    Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for working with young learners.

-    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

-    Ability to work independently and reliably every Friday.

Certifications & Background Checks

-    Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and fingerprinting.

-    Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Curriculum Planning & Preparation

-    Incorporate diverse learning modalities, including sensory play, arts and crafts, music, movement, storytelling, and outdoor exploration.

Classroom Instruction & Management

          -    Support classroom instruction and activities on Fridays from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

-    Create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.

-    Employ positive guidance and behavior management strategies that support social-emotional development.

-    Manage transitions smoothly throughout the day (e.g., arrival, snack time, circle time, lunch, quiet time, and dismissal).

Student Safety & Well-being

      -    Supervise students at all times, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment.

-    Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization, adhering to all health and safety protocols.

-    Assist children with personal care needs (e.g., toileting, handwashing, and mealtime clean-up) as needed.

Communication & Collaboration

-    Provide parents and guardians with brief, positive updates on their child's participation and weekly themes.

-    Collaborate with school administration to ensure program alignment with school-wide policies and safety procedures.

REPORTS TO:                               Program Coordinator for Extended Day

HOURS / SCHEDULE:                   Part-Time / Weekly

                                               Schedule:  Fridays, 8:00 AM 3:30 PM (7 hours on-site)

RATE OF PAY:                               $16.52-$18.76

The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.

Upon recommendation for employment, Section 1230g, as amended, of the Revised School Code requires all school employees to be electronically finger printed for the purpose of undergoing a criminal history background check. The fingerprinting is conducted by a third party and is at the expense of the applicant. The cost for fingerprinting is approximately $70.00.
