Material Handler / Stand-Up Forklift Operator

Location: DeSoto, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; Saturdays as needed
Pay: $20.00 per hour

Job Summary
Our client in DeSoto, TX is seeking an experienced Material Handler / Stand-Up Forklift Operator to support warehouse shipping, receiving, inventory, and material movement operations. This position is responsible for safely loading, unloading, and transporting incoming and outgoing freight using stand-up forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. The Material Handler will also maintain accurate inventory records, inspect products for damage or defects, and help maintain an efficient warehouse workflow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles using forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Transport palletized and crated materials between designated warehouse and storage locations.
  • Follow production schedules and work priorities to maintain efficient material flow.
  • Coordinate daily activities with supervisors and warehouse team members.
  • Stack products and empty crates safely in assigned warehouse locations.
  • Record products received and stored using handheld scanners and manual checklists.
  • Verify quantities received or shipped against shipping documentation and report discrepancies.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, defects, or quality concerns.
  • Perform daily equipment checks and minor maintenance, including battery charging and lubrication.
  • Follow warehouse procedures and established safety requirements.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 6 months of full-time forklift operating experience within the past 12 months.
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Warehouse shipping and receiving experience
  • Inventory control or material handling experience
  • Loading and unloading trucks or delivery vehicles
  • Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment
