Job description

Material Handler

We are seeking a Material Handler experienced or willing to learn all aspects of managing material in our Iowa facility. This position is responsible for assisting in a print manufacturing environment with a focus on reduction in cost related errors, exceeding client expectation, and driving a safe workplace. Prior experience as a Material Handler is a plus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Verifies and prepares materials according to work orders.
  • Supports the mailroom by retrieving and organizing materials.
  • Sorts, organizes, and prepares finished products for delivery.
  • Operates material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts (preferred).
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Identifies and reports safety hazards and damaged equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Collaborates to troubleshoot production challenges and improve processes.
  • Adheres to safety procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participates in training and development opportunities.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required to ensure the team's success.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Printstream Software a plus.
  • Experience operating electric jacks, pallet jacks, and forklifts is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to lift and move 15-25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to stand on concrete for 10-12 hours and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and stretch on a regular basis.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members.
  • Must demonstrate reliability through attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be able to foster team cooperation.
