About the Role
Join our fast-paced logistics team as a Material Handler I (Shipping Specialist) in College Park, GA. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of our shipping and inventory management processes. Grow your warehouse and logistics skills in an environment that values initiative, technical aptitude, and reliability. Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming materials; verify part numbers, quantities, and packing slips
- Pull and pack materials to fulfill customer orders using pick lists
- Accurately complete inventory transactions and maintain warehouse records
- Prepare shipments: weigh, label, pack, and attach all necessary transport and customs documentation
- Arrange transportation and prepare bills of lading, shipping orders, and freight quotations
- Monitor and resolve shipping/inventory handling issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and shipping regulations
- Enforce stockroom security and eliminate outdated or unserviceable materials
- Communicate shipment confirmations; track and address customer shipping inquiries
- Support sales, export, and warehouse departments as needed
- Maintain and update warehouse scorecards
- Cross-train in other functional areas as directed
Required Skills and Experience
- Stand-up forklift operation
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficient in data entry and basic computer use
