As a double board-certified facial plastic and hair restorative surgeon, Dr. Epstein, the Founder and Director of the Foundation for Hair Restoration and Dr. Anthony Bared, a partner in the practice and fellowship-trained in facial plastic surgery. The entire staff exemplifies compassion and kindness, with everyone working towards the same goal - which is to provide the highest level of care in a warm and welcoming environment.

Job Summary:

The Foundation for Hair Restoration is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing team. This role provides essential back-office clinical support to physicians, patients, and other members of the care team.

The Medical Assistant will function as both a Hair Restoration Technician and a Plastic Surgery Medical Assistant, assisting with a variety of clinical responsibilities. Duties include obtaining and documenting vital signs, height and weight measurements, supporting minor procedures, and providing post-operative care instructions and follow-up support.

This individual plays a key role in ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining clear communication between providers and patients, and delivering an exceptional patient experience. Strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment are essential for success in this position.

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Medical Assistant (Hair Restoration Technician)

  • Responsible for assisting with pre-op and post-op steps, including cutting, sorting, and graft placement.
  • Hair transplantation training will be provided
  • Check in surgical patients and review forms
  • Check out surgical patients and review discharge instructions

Medical Assistant (Plastic Surgery)

  • Delivers safe patient care according to policies and procedures
  • Records patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in Nextech (EHR) accurately
  • Prepares rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean
  • Provides assistance to the Surgeons and Providers in the examination rooms
  • Conducts diagnostic tests to determine patient health
  • Disposes of biomedical waste in accordance with standards
  • Processing medical records requests
  • Uploading medical records to NextTech (EMR) i.e. lab results
  • Patient hair washes
  • Ship product to patients
  • Assist with patient injections
  • Administers basic health care or medical treatments in postoperative care including removal of bandage and suture removal
  • Communicates follow-up instructions to patients
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization working effectively as a team member with other members of management and the clinic staff
  • Traveling to multiple locations may be required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure & multi-task
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records
  • Desire and ability help maintain a pleasant, team-oriented atmosphere
  • Prior experience working in a plastic surgery office or comparable medical office setting (Dermatology or Cosmetic Dentist)
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and grooming at all times

Experience:

  • EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
  • At least 1 -2 years of experience in an ASC/office-based surgery center preferredย 

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Preferred)

Schedule

  • Monday - Thursday with occasional Fridays
    • Mondays and Tuesdays will be long days (potentially 6 am - 6 pm)
