ROLE SUMMARY: The Pipefitter Journeyman is responsible for the layout and installation of (HVAC) piping systems and related equipment. Work must be completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with design specifications, building codes, and company standards. This role ensures quality workmanship, provides guidance to assigned trainees or apprentices, and contributes to efficient and safe completion of assigned projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Interpret plans, specifications, and work instructions to complete assigned installations or assemblies.
  • Installs HVAC equipment (Chillers, AHU's, etc..), pipe and assemblies.
  • Perform skilled tasks related to fabrication, layout, installation, repair, or maintenance of piping systems and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with general contractors and other trades.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures.
  • Provide instruction, training, and guidance to trainees or apprentices to promote safe work practices and skill development.
  • Maintain tools, materials, and work areas in an organized, safe, and serviceable condition.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 4 years of HVAC Piping experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project documents.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and applicable codes
  • Proficient in trade math.
  • Proficient in the safe and proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Strong understanding of job site safety standards and commitment to following all company safety policies.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and clients.
  • Understand multiple types of piping systems and connection methods (Steel, copper, HDPE, PPR, etc.)
  • Knowledge of DX piping is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Pipe Welding, an ASME qualification is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • OSHA 10.

This position requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. Manual material handling must be performed in accordance with OSHA safety standards and company policies to minimize risk of injury.
