Job Title: Controls Technician/ Electrician

Company Information

Our company was established in 1984 as an HVAC service company. We have grown into one of the largest mechanical contractors in NJ servicing large commercial and industrial buildings consisting of chiller plants, built-up penthouses and large HVAC equipment. We believe all customer interactions should be executed with the highest level of professionalism, excellence and competency at all levels of the organization.

Minimum Requirements

Experienced controls technician with a minimum of 5 years experience with a strong background in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining building automation control systems and devices. Applicant must be able to follow wiring diagrams and engineering specifications to install and troubleshoot.

Responsibilities:

  • Low voltage wiring, installation, termination of building automation controllers and end-devices.
  • Testing, commissioning and calibration of sensors, valves, dampers, etc.
  • Troubleshooting and programming of VFD’s.
  • Programming of application specific controls such as VAV boxes and fan coils.
  • Installation of MSTP and IP networks.
  • Be part of the on-call rotation
  • Provide onsite installation and repair of controls systems

Experience preferred in the following:

  • Tridium Jace
  • Johnson FX
  • BACnet IP, MSTP networks
  • RTU, Chiller Plants, Boilers VAV boxes sequence of operations
  • Microsoft Visio

Required skills and strengths:

  • Valid drivers license
  • HVAC building automation knowledge
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirement of the job
  • Basic computer skills of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Five years experience with the installation and troubleshooting of building automations systems
  • Communication skills (oral and writing)
  • Able to read wiring diagrams and engineers drawings
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to multi-task and focus amid distractions
  • Good listener and a team player
  • Detail oriented
  • Organized, flexible and follow directions
  • Able to work overtime when needed
  • Work independently
