Job/Position Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Bring up the AMD x86 APU on a custom iRDK board, leveraging the EVK reference design as the baseline platform.
  • Enable and validate the display subsystem, including GPU driver integration, HDMI/DisplayPort output, and display controller functionality.
  • Port, integrate, and stabilize the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) on the AMD APU platform.
  • Collaborate directly with AMD engineering teams on platform enablement, driver integration, issue resolution, and technical support.
  • Validate APU performance through benchmarking, GPU performance analysis, system stability testing, and thermal characterization.
  • Support Ok2Book proof-of-concept milestones, ensuring timely delivery of technical documentation, progress updates, and key project artifacts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in Embedded Software Development, with strong expertise in complex platform bring-up activities.
  • Hands-on experience with AMD x86 SoC or APU bring-up and platform enablement.
  • Deep understanding of display subsystems, including GPU drivers, display controllers, HDMI, DisplayPort, and/or MIPI DSI technologies.
  • Strong experience with Android platform bring-up, including AOSP porting, HAL development, and BSP integration.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux kernel architecture, boot processes, device drivers, and low-level system software development.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and/or Rust, with experience using hardware debugging tools such as JTAG and Lauterbach.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in automotive infotainment, digital cockpit, or related automotive embedded domains.
  • Familiarity with AMD ROCm and GPU compute software stacks.
  • Experience working with Versal devices or other AMD embedded SoC platforms.
  • Knowledge of hypervisor-based systems and virtualization technologies, including ACRN, Xen, or equivalent solutions.
