Job Description
This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace.
Applicants must pass a comprehensive background investigation including criminal, controlled substance, driving, employment history checks, an oral interview, medical exam including drug screen, psychological and physical agility testing.

  • This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This job requires a public safety background check to include motor vehicle histories, criminal histories, and fingerprinting.

GradeThe Grade for this position is FF233.
Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
  • $59,079 - $94,588 Starting Salary
  • $60,851 - $97,425 3% pay incentive for an Associate degree
  • $62,623 - $100,263 6% pay incentive for a Bachelor's degree
Incentive:
  • $2,000 Hiring Incentive within first year of employment - This is for new Gwinnett County employees only (not rehires).
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License from state of residency;
  • Current Georgia Paramedic certification and/or current National Registry Paramedic certification
  • Additional Courses to be completed as required:
  • Firefighter I Certification (Must be obtained within one year);
  • NPQ Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification (Must be obtained within one year)

  • To be considered for this position, you must attach: (1) A copy of your High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate (2) Current Paramedic certification card with this application.
