A Day in the Life of a Counter Sales Associate:

  • Providing exceptional service to customers at the counter and over the phone through accurate order entry
  • Increasing sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional as well as new products
  • Working cooperatively with other team members, such as coordinating deliveries with drivers, pulling customer orders, helping replenish inventory and pulling transfers in the warehouse, and other branch operations as needed
  • Following ethical standards and complying with company policies that ensure as safe, friendly, and team-oriented family culture

Required Skills:

  • Computer literacy. Ability to use Microsoft Office, as well as proficiency in order entry processes using our Epicor Solar Eclipse system, VAMAC's intranet, or other systems as applicable
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms (i.e. in-person, phone, email, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team; ability to multitask
  • Ability to stand and walk for long duration, as well as lift up to 100 pounds
  • 1+ years experience within the industry is preferred (sales, plumbing, order entry)

Preferred Skills:

  • Industry related experience
  • Previous experience using an RF Gun
  • Current forklift certification, where required
