Gulf Fiberoptics Assembly Technician
Job Summary
Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am -4:00pm
The position's main responsibility is for a variety of steps in the assembly of medical fiber optic light guide bundles and endoscopic cables . A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all activities assigned is essential.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Interpret drawings and routers to determine correct materials required for assembly.
  • Maintain necessary documentation on work performed following established work instructions or procedures.
  • Perform assembly functions required for tasks assigned following approved processes and training.
  • Rotate among various assembly processes and in process jobs as required.
  • Follow established procedures and drawing notes to affect compliant assemblies.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak and communicate in English.
  • Ability to work alone and stay on task as required.
  • Ability to work closely with other technicians as required.
  • Ability to use a microscope and inspection loupes
  • Good arm-hand steadiness and ability to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
  • The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands.
  • Stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent near vision and hand/eye coordination.
  • Bend, stoop and stretch as required for placement and/or retrieval of materials used in assembly process(es).
  • Lift materials of up to 40 lbs as may be needed.

Prior work experience in electronics or small assembly a plus. Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate/Credential, Technical, Trade or Vocational School Certification.
