Work EnvironmentThis position is remote, promoting flexibility to work from your home office while engaging with students primarily through virtual platforms. You will enjoy the autonomy of crafting a work-life balance, while still receiving regular support from our collaborative team during business hours, occasionally extending to evening shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students’ mental health, ensuring each evaluation is thorough and individualized.
- Design and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings, utilizing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to suit the unique needs of students.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions, using techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and mindfulness strategies to address mental health concerns.
- Collaborate with case managers, school psychologists, and educational staff to ensure holistic support for students, creating an environment where mental health care is integrated into the educational experience.
- Offer crisis intervention services for students in acute distress, employing skills of assessment, rapid response, and follow-up care to stabilize situations.
- Engage in community outreach programs and educational initiatives that promote mental health awareness, reducing stigma in schools and among families.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about treatment goals and progress.
Your focus will primarily be on school-aged children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, including individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. You will work closely with students' families to create a collaborative treatment approach, integrating their insights to foster a supportive therapeutic environment.
Qualifications- A current, unrestricted license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
- A completed master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients, showcasing strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for establishing effective therapeutic relationships.
- Adeptness in cultural competence, enabling you to sensitively engage with clients from a variety of ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple cases, maintaining detailed documentation and timely records of client progress.
- Experience working in school systems or educational environments, familiarizing yourself with academic pressures and student needs.
- Experience using teletherapy platforms and remote communication tools to engage with clients effectively.
- Familiarity with local community resources and support systems available to enhance the well-being of students and their families.
