Registered Dietitian
Location: Guardian Angels Care Center - Elk River, MN
Salary Range: $55,000 - $80,000 (Based on Experience)

Position Summary:
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing quality clinical nutritional care based on MDS assessments and care plans that contributes significantly to the quality of life for GACC residents and is consistent with regulations, established policies and procedures. Services are provided in accordance with the mission of Guardian Angels and in compliance with existing rules and regulations.
Schedule:
  • Full Time

Responsibilities:
  • Implement nutritional care programs based upon existing regulations and established nutrition best practices.
  • Cooperate with department staff to promote residents' total and nutritional wellbeing.
  • Provide quality clinical nutritional care that is consistent with existing regulations, policies and procedures, and is in accordance with the mission of Guardian Angels.
  • Completes MD's, nutrition assessments and attends care conferences as scheduled.
  • Implement procedures and tools for nutritional intervention and attainment of nutritional goals for residents deemed to be at nutritional risk.
  • Meets with residents and families as needed.
  • Assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents.
  • Follow universal precautions, facility infection control guidelines, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
  • All duties are performed in accordance with current standards, guidelines, state and federal regulations.
  • Assists with ordering and supplies/inventory for the Culinary Department. Receives inventory and stocks shelves according to guidelines.
  • Uphold confidential information as required by Guardian Angels policy and procedure and as related to HIPAA.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the Guardian Angels.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Must have completed a Registered Dietitian or related training program and/or degree in nutrition approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics MN State Licensure Board.
  • Maintains required certification and attends all appropriate training.
  • Must have knowledge of State and Federal regulations as they relate to dietary services.
  • Occasional evenings, holidays, and weekends may be required.
  • Must be able to make evaluations of resident's nutritional needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written (read and write) communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills Microsoft Office a plus. Familiar with food vendor order forms also a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated, with ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Maintains good attendance and punctuality.
