Overview

Location: Louisville, KYReports To: Director, Global Intelligence & Security Risk

Salary: $85-$95K

Position Summary

Tarian is seeking an experienced GSOC Manager to lead its Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a high-visibility leadership role within a relatively new and evolving 24/7/365 security operations capability responsible for centralized monitoring, incident and case management, operational coordination, threat escalation, communications support, protective intelligence, crisis management, and intelligence-led situational awareness.

In addition to managing daily operations, this role will help build and mature the people, process, and technology functions of the GSOC. This includes strengthening workflows and standards, improving reporting and performance management, supporting technology adoption and automation, and developing a high-performing team in a dynamic security operations environment.

The ideal candidate brings prior SOC / GSOC / command center experience, strong people leadership, sound operational judgment, and a high degree of comfort with technology. Military leadership experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily GSOC operations in a 24/7/365 environment, ensuring consistent service delivery, operational readiness, and adherence to standards.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop GSOC personnel; manage team performance, staffing, hiring, onboarding, training, and retention.
  • Help build and mature the people, process, and technology functions of a relatively new GSOC capability in Louisville, including workflows, standards, playbooks, and operating procedures.
  • Oversee security event monitoring, incident and case management, escalation, communication, mitigation, and follow-up across a range of operational and security-related events.
  • Support protective intelligence, crisis management, and business continuity efforts through timely situational awareness, coordination, and response support.
  • Build and maintain relationships that support the development and dissemination of actionable intelligence and real-time operational information to internal stakeholders, field leadership, clients, and external partners.
  • Produce and review alerts, dashboards, summaries, metrics, and other reporting to support leadership visibility, performance management, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the integration and effective use of technology, automation, remote monitoring, and incident management tools that improve GSOC efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage budgets, vendor coordination, and operational expenditures in accordance with company policy.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in security management, criminal justice, homeland security, intelligence studies, emergency management, business, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of management experience leading teams in a SOC, GSOC, command center, watch center, military operations center, law enforcement operations center, or similar environment
  • Prior experience in a 24/7 security operations or high-tempo operational setting
  • Strong knowledge of incident management, threat management, protective intelligence, crisis management, and security operations concepts
  • Strong technology aptitude and experience with monitoring platforms, dashboards, reporting tools, and case management systems
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Military leadership experience or prior service in military, federal, state, or local security, intelligence, law enforcement, or emergency management operations.
  • Experience helping stand up, transform, or mature a GSOC, PSOC, SOC, intelligence center, or enterprise command center.
  • Experience with remote monitoring, access control, video surveillance, intelligence reporting, executive protection support, or crisis response coordination.
  • Experience in healthcare, contract security, enterprise security, or multi-site operational environments.
  • Experience with performance metrics, dashboards, SLAs, quality control, and budget accountability.
