Job Description:
Global Reconciliation Utility (GRU) is responsible for reconciliations across multiple lines of business across 92 countries. The VP PMO is a Senior Program Management role responsible for providing project and program management, project governance, reporting and business office support across the GRU organization.
The IT Senior PMO position will be responsible for driving Process Excellent, Change Management, Work Intake and Prioritization and transitioning the project teams from Waterfall to Agile/Scrum Teams. The leader will also be responsible for implementing appropriate tools like ServiceNow to support service request management and other tools to help facilitate effective resource capacity planning. The IT Senior PMO lead will also drive continuous improvements and process excellence across the PMO and the broader GRU organization.
The leader will also support business strategic planning and establishing appropriate processes to improve governance and alignment with our stakeholders. This will include processes, such as, line of business prioritization, monthly operating reviews, twice yearly strategic planning and integration of CSUM VOC surveys.
In addition to the above, the leader must have core IT Project management skills. While this leader will focus on process excellence, change management, Agile/Scrum, he/she must also be equipped to effectively lead major projects. At some point in time, the resource may be asked to lead a major project, however, that is not the initial focus of this role.
The IT Project Senior Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.
Responsibilities:
o Process Excellence
o Lead the Process Excellence function within the PMO, which includes defining and implementing new PMO and Business Office processes to ensure effective resource capacity planning, change management, work intake, prioritization and overall management of the GRU portfolio.
o Centralize work intake tools and refine work intake processes to better align with the business we serve.
o Agile/Scrum
o Lead the organization transformation from Waterfall to Agile/Scrum including business and IT training in Agile methodology and Scrum training.
o Develop a Scrum training curriculum.
o Lead the initial Scrum Team POC across selected teams.
o Launch a Agile/Scrum COE and train existing Scrum Masters on the training curriculum to help support the GRU transition to Scrum across the project teams.
o Project Management (Fundamental skill required)
o Oversees all technology components of diverse, moderately complex IT projects, including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost.
o Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
o Communicates with end-users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates.
o Has shared responsibility for budget, policy formulation and planning.
o Contributes to formulation of strategies for IT project leadership and other functional areas.
o Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.
o Applies in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.
o Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how areas of IT project leadership collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
o Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
o Directly impacts the IT project leadership area through responsibility for delivery of end results and shared responsibility for budget management; accountable for resource planning.
o Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
o Persuades and influences others through communication and diplomacy skills; may negotiate with external parties.
o Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
o Certified Scrum Master
o 5-years of Scrum Master experience leading multiple Scrum Teams in a large corporation
o Experience teaching Agile methods, Scrum team training - user stories, retrospectives, daily stand-ups, sprint planning, managing the backlog, building Scrum teams, identifying appropriate product owners, etc.
o 5-years experience driving transformations and process improvements within a PMO and in support of overall portfolio management
o 3-5 years expereince in the Finacial Services Industry with some understanding of Markets, Treasury, Reconciliations and other business lines
o 10 years of technology project management skills, managing large programs, working with stakeholders and delivery partners, preferably in financial services or insurance.
o Understanding of Waterfall SDLC methodologies
o Exposure to Big Data Technology, Data Analytics, Hadoop, Hive Kafka, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, SmartStream TLM, QuickRec, Qlikview and other technologies.
o Excellant verbal, written and presentation skills
o Team player with excellent collaboration skills
o Experience working globally with multiple countries
o Experience working with senior executive stakeholders
o Master at Word, Xcel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Project, Visio, Jira,
Education:
o Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
o Masters degree
