Description
The Baltimore Sun is seeking a Digital Growth Manager to help grow and strengthen our digital subscription business. Reporting to the Director of Circulation, this role will use data, testing, and customer behavior to identify opportunities to improve subscriber acquisition, conversion, engagement, and retention.
Previous news or media experience is not required. Candidates with backgrounds in e-commerce, DTC, SaaS, streaming, membership, or other digital businesses are encouraged to apply.
Essential Functions
  • Help lead strategies to grow digital subscriptions and improve subscriber retention.
  • Review the digital subscriber journey and identify opportunities to improve landing pages, paywalls, checkout, onboarding, and renewal experiences.
  • Develop and evaluate tests around pricing, offers, messaging, and other parts of the subscription experience.
  • Monitor key metrics including conversion rate, cost per acquisition (CPA), churn, lifetime value (LTV), and average revenue per user (ARPU).
  • Use GA4 and other analytics tools to understand subscriber behavior and turn data into actionable recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce churn and improve subscriber engagement.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, News, and IT/Data to improve the overall digital subscription experience.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • 3-5+ years of experience in digital growth, e-commerce, subscription marketing, lifecycle marketing, conversion optimization, or a related area.
  • Experience using data and testing to improve digital performance.
  • Strong understanding of digital customer journeys, conversion, and retention.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to move projects and initiatives forward.
  • Experience with GA4 or similar digital analytics tools.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
Individual compensation may vary from the target range based on several factors, including experience, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
