What does a growth intern do?

A Growth Intern supports a company's efforts to expand its customer base and increase revenue. Their responsibilities often include analyzing user data, assisting with marketing campaigns, testing new strategies for user acquisition, and identifying opportunities for business growth. Growth interns work closely with marketing, product, and analytics teams to learn and implement growth tactics. This role provides hands-on experience in digital marketing, data analysis, and product optimization, making it ideal for those interested in startups or tech companies.

What are some typical projects a growth intern might work on, and how do these contribute to the company's goals?

Growth Interns often work on projects such as market research, user acquisition campaigns, data analysis, and supporting product launches. These tasks help identify new growth opportunities, optimize existing marketing channels, and drive user engagement. By collaborating with marketing, product, and data teams, Growth Interns gain hands-on experience in growth strategies while directly impacting the company's expansion and success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a growth intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Growth Intern, you need a strong grasp of marketing fundamentals, analytical thinking, and a willingness to learn, often supported by coursework or experience in business, marketing, or data analysis. Initiative, creativity, adaptability, and effective communication are standout soft skills in this role. These skills and qualities are important because they enable interns to identify growth opportunities, execute campaigns, and collaborate effectively in fast-moving environments.

About the Role
We're looking for a Social Growth Intern (or contractor) to work directly alongside our Social Growth lead, building and experimenting with creator-driven campaigns that turn attention into growth.
You'll be hands-on with sourcing creators, running UGC deals, and spotting what's trending before everyone else does. Along the way, you'll learn how a category-defining creator tool thinks about growth from the inside.
This is a great fit for someone who lives and breathes the creator economy and short-form content, moves fast, and wants real ownership rather than a typical "intern project."
What You'll Do
  • Source and vet creators for UGC and campaign partnerships. Negotiate and manage UGC deals end-to-end, staying flexible and in constant communication with creators.
  • Stay active on X, Instagram, and TikTok to scout emerging trends, formats, and ideas worth capturing.
  • Use AI tools like Claude to prompt and build automated workflows that make campaign execution faster and more scalable.
  • Turn ideas into real experiments quickly, without waiting to be asked.

What We're Looking For
  • Know how to bring a product to market and turn attention into growth.
  • Live and breathe the creator economy, short-form content, and UGC. Comfortable managing multiple creator relationships at once, with strong communication and follow-through.
  • Move fast and bias toward action: you'd rather test an idea than debate it.
  • Able to work PT hours. Take initiative without being asked.

Bonus Points
  • Experience growing social channels for other companies or brands.
  • An existing creator network you can tap into.
  • Comfort experimenting with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) to speed up workflows.

What You'll Get
  • Direct mentorship from real creators and team members in the creative field: not just a manager, a collaborator.
  • Exposure to OpusClip's actual growth strategy, working alongside the Growth lead day to day.
  • A chance to learn social media and growth from the inside of the #1 clipping tool in the market, while helping push that further.

Talent over resume.
SF/Bay Area is a plus (in-person is fun!), but remote works too. Age doesn't matter, driven high schoolers welcome. Competitive pay, especially for interns.
