Job description

  • Plan and schedule shift rosters to meet production needs, including coverage for vacations and absence
  • Review and approve employee hours and time-off requests
  • Supervise daily blow molding operations and ensure production targets are met
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 12–20 employees across 2nd shift
  • Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with Maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Enforce safety procedures, conduct safety audits, and participate in incident investigations
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, etc.)
  • Manage labor and material usage to control costs and reduce waste
  • Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and operational logs
  • Support onboarding, training, and performance evaluations for production staff
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support plant-wide goals
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Experience in plastics or molding preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong understanding of material flow, tooling, and job changeovers
  • Hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, and industrial controls
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a high-volume environment
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, lean manufacturing, and quality systems
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skill
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with production tracking software, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, etc.)
  • Ability to build a positive, high-performing team culture
