A Group Product Manager (GPM) is responsible for setting the overall product vision and strategy for a portfolio of products, while also mentoring and guiding individual product managers on their teams. While much of their time is spent on high-level planning, cross-functional alignment, and stakeholder management, GPMs are also expected to dive into the details when necessary—such as refining roadmaps, prioritizing features, or resolving critical issues. Job description

POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Elementary Large Group Manager
DEPARTMENT: Family Ministry
REPORTS TO: Calvary Kids Elementary Director
STATUS: Exempt
HOURS: Full-time (45)
LOCATION: Fort Lauderdale
At Calvary Chapel, we are called to make disciples of Jesus Christ by connecting people to God, people to people, and people to outreach. Our vision is to reach our community and change our world. As a staff member, it's not what we do, it's who we are.
Your Passion:
You are passionate about the next generation encountering Jesus through fun, engaging, and Gospel-centered experiences where kids learn Biblical truth, Scripture, and Bible stories in meaningful and memorable ways. You have a heart to create worship and teaching environments that help kids grow in their faith and want to come back each week. You are also passionate about equipping and developing older students and adult volunteers to confidently lead and disciple kids in both large group and small group settings. Through creativity, leadership, and collaboration, you help create environments where kids can worship God wholeheartedly and build a strong Biblical foundation.
You Are:
  • Convinced a relationship with Jesus changes everything in a person's life
  • Committed to keeping your family as your first ministry
  • Dedicated to your personal study of God's Word
  • Consistently placing a high priority on worship and your personal prayer life
  • An excellent and generous steward of your personal finances
  • Obedient to God to take a Sabbath and make space for soul-keeping
  • Deeply compassionate toward people who are in need or hurting
  • Excited about global missions and local outreach-you want to change the world
  • A part of a healthy friendship community and accountability circle
  • Willing to give up personal pleasures and freedoms in order to live a life above reproach and aligned with our Leadership Covenant
  • Highly creative and able to apply creativity across different large group environments and children of varying ages
  • Committed to duplicating yourself and empowering others
  • A leader of people
You Will:
  • Lead the vision, planning, and execution of all Elementary large group experiences, creating engaging, age-appropriate, and Gospel-centered environments where kids learn about Jesus and are excited to return each week.
  • Oversee all large group teaching plans, service flow, creative elements, and production details to ensure a high-quality and spiritually impactful experience.
  • Collaborate with Theater, production, worship, and various ministry teams to create engaging worship experiences and cohesive large group environments.
  • Ensure Bible stories and Scripture are communicated in fun, creative, memorable, and spiritually impactful ways.
  • Provide creative direction for worship experiences, stage design, media elements, games, transitions, and overall service atmosphere.
  • Recruit, train, and empower a self-sustaining volunteer team to own and execute all AV and technical production needs.
  • Collaborate with Small Group teams to ensure large group content supports meaningful follow-up discussion and discipleship within the small groups.
  • Recruit, train, develop, schedule, and lead large group volunteers and creative teams.
  • Equip leaders and volunteers with creative ideas, resources, coaching, and support for continued growth and excellence.
  • Support and help execute major Kids Ministry events including Easter, Christmas, and other ministry events and initiatives.
  • Participate in planning meetings, team meetings, and vision discussions to support alignment across Calvary Kids.
  • Help maintain consistency in vision, culture, and the overall look and feel of the Calvary Kids experience across all campuses.
  • Champion the vision and values of Calvary Kids and Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale in every aspect of the ministry.
  • Serve as the primary weekly communicator for Elementary large group experiences, delivering high-energy, Gospel-centered messages.
  • Oversee and equip the AV and Tech teams by recruiting and training a reliable volunteer base to handle weekly production needs.
  • Build a pipeline of secondary communicators, actively coaching and providing opportunities for gifted volunteers or high school students to host or teach.
You Have:
  • Strong creative communication and storytelling skills suited for an elementary-aged audience
  • A shepherd's heart with the ability to recruit, coach, and empower volunteers rather than just doing the ministry alone
  • A deep love for Scripture and a proven ability to teach Biblical truths to children in an engaging, high-energy, and memorable way
  • Strong personal time-management and organizational skills to manage weekly service flows, scripts, and volunteer schedules
  • Excellent organizational skills with an appreciation for details
  • Comfort utilizing and learning ministry-related software (e.g., ProPresenter, Planning Center) to facilitate large group experiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff members, leadership, volunteers, the church body, and members of the community
  • The ability to be flexible and demonstrate excellent time-management skills
  • The ability to handle multiple projects at one time, complete projects on time, and follow through efficiently
  • Spiritual and emotional maturity
  • The ability to maintain and display compassion and firmness when ministering to the special needs of the church body
  • Discernment to keep confidential matters confidential
  • Management skills and leadership qualities for overseeing staff and volunteers
  • The ability to remain calm and level-headed when faced with pressing needs or injuries in Kids Ministry or at an event
  • The ability to relate to both parents and children depending on specific situations
  • Gifts of the Holy Spirit that are evident and actively flowing daily
  • A teachable spirit and a flexible posture when needed

  • You love what you do and have fun doing it
  • You have a gift for engaging kids in different experiences
  • You enjoy working with kids and all generations
  • You can come up with fun, interactive games for kids on the spot
